IENKI IENKI is the Kyiv-based outwear brand founded in 2016 by Dima Ievenko. Its origin derives from Dima’s passion for designing and making outwear that is fashion-forward but does not compromise on quality. The first collection included three clothing styles that became an immediate success, being sold out in the very first season by prestigious international stockists such as Le Bon Marché (Paris), Barneys (New York), Lane Crawford (China), Selfridges and Browns (London), and Mytheresa (Munich).
The brand name is pronounced “yenki yenki”. It was inspired by founder’s roots, who is a descendant of the Evenki people (formerly the Tungus), one the most populous and widely dispersed of the many native nations of the northern Siberia. The northern nations’ heritage is a major source of our inspiration. We pay special attention to details, reinterpreting the northern nations’ traditional dress in modern ways.
II DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
IENKI IENKI’s design philosophy boils down to making the outwear more flattering, creating innovative and wearable silhouettes that hardly existed before. We use the latest technologies to ensure that our clothes become a reliable part of an exceptional outwear experience. To this end we fill our pieces with ultra-warm and ultra-light goose down which unlike duck down keeps you especially warm. We also collaborate with such grand suppliers of materials as Riri Zippers, Shoeller, Primaloft, and Recco System.
From the first IENKI IENKI came to be enjoyed by Bella and Gigi Hadid, Emily Ratajkowski, Kourtney Kardashian, Irina Shayk, Hailey Bieber, Grimes and many others. It is quite encouraging for us to see so many inspirational celebrities, editors and stylists wearing our brand. To be honest, though, the greatest honour for us is to see the ordinary people wearing and appreciating our clothing. Knowing that IENKI IENKI hits it off with both celebrities and the general public makes us proud.
